The historic cobblestone streets of Lucca lie only a fourteen-minute drive away and this Tuscan favourite is well worth a visit, even if only to gaze up at the Renaissance walls encircling the city centre. Grab a bite to eat, stroll the tops of the 17th-century ramparts or visit the house museum of the late opera composer, Casa di Puccini. Even though part of this historic farmhouse’s charm lies in the fact that it’s surrounded by green, there is also a bit of blue to be found thirty-seven minutes away where you can stroll the beach at Spiaggia della Lecciona.
