Resting quietly in the picturesque village of Gouaix, you’ll find this charming townhouse. Lovingly restored, it offers a comfortable place to stay on your French adventure, while still showcasing the original features that make this home so special. The grand spiral staircase and exposed stone wall are particular eye-catchers in the living area and the lightness of decor throughout make this a tranquil retreat truly befitting of its location in this peaceful village. There’s even a mezzanine office area should you need to catch up on work while you’re away, although it will be hard to focus when there’s so much to explore around you. If you’re itching to get outdoors, the nearby National Nature Reserve of La Bassée is a must-see, where an abundance of fauna and flora await. For those who love a little history, a visit to the mediaeval city of Provins, a Unesco World Heritage Site, promises a memorable day out. Further afield, Paris is only an hour away, should you fancy a visit to the city of love. Closer to home, there are some fantastic hikes from and near Gouaix.
