Do you come across all awkward the moment you realise you're rubbing shoulders with celebs and Hollywood high rollers? We unabashedly do. But you're going to have to keep your cool during your stay here because an A-list encounter is more or less inevitable. We find it's best to don some shades (preferably mirrored) so things don't become awkward. This mid-century modern home is cleverly designed to allow guests to have their privacy in a semi-detached bedroom while others stay in the main house. There are evergreen views over rolling hillsides towards Griffith Park from the bedroom and covered terrace, with dark wood flooring, exposed beams and jute rugs to keep you grounded in nature when inside. Oh, and one more draw, while Hollywood Boulevard is only a ten-minute drive away, we tend to prefer the more intimate community of Los Feliz. This more authentic LA neighbourhood tends to keep things on the right side of casual before it slips over into achingly cool.
