This Zakynthos villa is a vision of traditional stone and wood. On approach, it feels like an old farmhouse, but the inviting plunge pool lined with loungers and wooden deck with mattresses for lazing the days away are a giveaway that this place is more about reclining and relaxing than toiling in the fields. We love the balcony on the first floor, furnished with a table and chairs overlooking the hazy Zakynthos mountains framed by palm trees. Inside, there are plenty of features that carry on the old farmhouse feel, like the fireplace in the living room, exposed thick stone walls and the white-painted wooden ceiling. The kitchen is cleverly tucked beneath a sweeping stone archway. When it comes to bedtime, both bedrooms are a soothing motif of grey and white with lofty wood-beamed ceilings keeping things feeling breezy. Although you’re in a quiet location, there’s a bakery, minimarket and a couple of tavernas within walking distance and the beach is a short walk away too. A short drive sees you in the charming town of Tsilivi, and Zakynthos Town is around a twenty-minute drive away.
