Beyond the garden wall, a thirty-minute walk eastwards along the coast will lead you to the centre of the busy fishing town of Buckie. With its supermarkets, cafes and a great butcher, it's ideal for stocking up on essentials. Head in the opposite direction and admire the pleasant village of Portgordon, which supplies the malted barley for Speyside's world-famous whisky industry – many of Scotland’s best distilleries are based in the area. Elsewhere, the stunning stretch of Cullen beach is no more than a fifteen-minute drive away, while there are plenty of challenging golf courses to choose from.
