Nestled amid olive groves and vineyards at the top of the Tuscan hills, this gorgeous villa makes for a dreamy escape. Traditional, rustic, and packed with charm, this home is like something from a film set. Vines clamber up the pergola, which sits beside the pretty stone farmhouse in a breathtaking setting. While you sip local Tuscan wine on the terrace, your gaze is drawn to the views of the rolling valleys, and out as far as the Tyrrhenian Sea. When you’re not dining under the pergola, you might doze in the alfresco lounge. Hop into the private pool to swim a few laps every now and then, and stretch out on a sun lounger to dry off. The grounds are lush and pretty, with something to catch your eye at every turn. Inside, the villa is just as lovely. Wooden beams and a roaring fireplace make it feel cosy, as do the exposed stone walls. We love the authenticity of this beautiful home. If you can tear yourself away, it only takes twelve minutes to drive into Lucca. Explore the city behind the walls, shopping, taking in the culture, and dining out. Perhaps call into a nearby vineyard on the way home and bring a bottle or two back to the villa to enjoy as you watch the sun set over the valley.
