Perched between the Scottish Lowlands and the sea on a 2000-acre private estate fringing Portpatrick, the setting of this lodge has to be seen to be believed. It's truly a home for all seasons. Summer nights are all about barbecues, soaks in the outdoor bath, and marshmallow toasting around the firepit. Meanwhile, winter evenings are made for cosying up with hearty meals delivered to your door (available for a fee) after exploring the grounds. There are plenty of on-site activities to take advantage of here, too. We're talking private dock on the loch for boating, guided hikes, wild swimming, maze running, wildlife tracking, yoga sessions, and beach picnics – and that’s just the start.

Home truths

This home is one of an exclusive collection of lodges set within the estate’s grounds. While you’ll share the grounds with other guests, you’ll have your own garden with a patio and barbecue, as well as a private dock on the loch.

The two en-suite bathrooms aren’t photographed, but expect the style and quality to be consistent with the rest of the home.

The second bedroom has trundle beds, which can be converted into two singles – perfect for children sharing.

A cot and high chair are provided, but as there's an unfenced loch close to the lodge, children will need to be supervised at all times.

A welcome breakfast hamper, bathroom essentials, and bathrobes and slippers are provided.

The bedrooms are spread across two floors.

About Dumfries & Galloway

With a landscape that inspired the poetry of Burns, rugged coast and crumbling castles, Dumfries and Galloway is the perfect spot for a wild Scottish break. The lowlands of Scotland may not have the same fame as the highlands, but you’ll still find heather-clad hillside rambles, cosy country pubs serving neeps and tatties, and quiet fishing villages dotting the coastline. Robert Burns spent most of his life in Dumfries, and...
