Splashed across architectural digests and featured in glossy magazines, this is a very special spot in the Baix Empordà. Wild gardens carry the scent of Mediterranean herbs and the swimming pool and terrace have been constructed with rose-hued stone from the nearby River Ter. The dining terrace can be closed off or opened up to the sprawling views thanks to folding glass doors and it backs onto the farmhouse-style kitchen. Bedrooms embrace the surroundings with traditional Catalan "volta" (brick vaulted) ceilings, along with the spartan lounge which feels like a ceramics workshop. If you want to get out an explore, buzzing Girona is just over half-an-hour’s drive away and the beach at L'Estartit is twenty minutes by car.
