This spacious duplex is all about its socialising spaces – there are two cosy living rooms in earthy tones with plenty of comfortable seating and two terraces featuring panoramic views over the rooftops. There's also character aplenty, with a contemporary art collection and antiques. While the kitchen and bathrooms have more of a retro-kitsch feel to them, your host has taken great care to preserve them in a spotless condition. This Rive Gauche location is ideal for a group looking to escape the central bustle while still remaining close to the buzzing quarter of Saint-Germain.

About Montparnasse & Catacombs
This part of town is mostly residential but works well as a base for exploring the charms of the nearby 6th and the 7th arrondissements. It was famously home to a community of prominent twentieth-century artists and intellectuals - Simone de Beauvoir, Jean-Paul Sartre, Max Ernst and Pablo Picasso to name a few. Parc Montsouris is one of the city's most colourful public spaces and well worth seeking out. Be sure to check out the Roman Catacombs too if you're of the morbid disposition - stacks of skulls and bones await you!

Host
This home is managed by Thérèse
This home is managed directly by its owner who will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Thérèse and her husband are both entrepreneurs, and even managed a gallery for contemporary artists at one point. As a result, their apartment is a small museum with many interesting pieces that they have collected over time. Staying with them is already a cultural experience on its own, while their local recommendations are worth a try for those who also share their artistic interests.
