Curated experiences by your host: where to eat, shop and relax round your home

Once London’s industrial district, Clerkenwell really has transformed into an articulate area. With warehouses being converted into design agencies, tech start-ups, trendy restaurants and bars, there is much inspiration to be found here.

You are so lucky! Exmouth Market is buzzing outside!

Cross the street at lunchtime to experience the colours and aromas of food carts that draw both local creatives and savvy foodie visitors. In the evening, experience an almost continental vibe in this overlooked Clerkenwell gem.

A true original, Moro paved the way for casual, quality dining almost 20 years ago and it is still as committed to a fresh, original moorish menu. You could say Exmouth Market created itself around Moro. Booking essential, but worth it.

Equal parts bagel shop, coffee bar and record shop. Order a snack or coffee or peruse new and used vinyl (from a surprisingly decent selection). Grab and go or sit yourself down for some serious people watching in this bustling spot on Exmouth Market.

The Best Steak Sandwich in London at The Eagle

Perfect perfect! That is the only way to describe The Eagle's Beef-Anna, a Portuguese dish with an English Gastropub twirl!

One of London’s open secrets, Regent’s Canal is ideal for a run, stroll or cycle. Head east along the ‘Haggerston Riviera’ towards the green haven of Victoria Park. And there are plenty of spots along the way for a craft beer (or two).

Afternoon Tea is a British tradition that is still very much alive. For proof, look no further than the version served at the Modern Pantry. Classic and modern: a proper British experience.

Meaty Saint John Restaurant!

Times might be changing, but Fergus Henderson made tradition magic and pioneered the comeback of "nose to tail eating" for the joy of many. Digest at the Bar and don't forget the Bakery!

Keep in the Family Business Tattoo

It's estimated that 1 in 10 Americans and 1 in 5 (young) British have a tattoo. If you're into it, the Family Business Tattoo parlour, at Exmouth Market since 2003, won't go unnoticed.

"I am always happy to test Gina’s properties and this was no exception, I loved the botanical theme in here, it works perfectly. The apartment is a duplex, where the bedrooms and bathroom take the lower floor and the top floor has the kitchen, the living room and a balcony full of plants. You rarely get two bedrooms with two super king size beds, two TVs and air conditioned. Even rarer is to find a bathroom that offers natural light, a huge rainfall shower, a stand alone tub with a TV in front, ceiling speakers and a luxurious set of toiletries. Like all of Gina’s properties, there is a consistent minimal vibe throughout, incorporating details such as suspended lamps and nooks on the walls for storage. The living and the open plan kitchen are perfectly curated with recycled woods, cacti and dry goods, there are more TVs and more Sonos in here, as well as a lovely balcony which is green and lush even in Winter. Gina’s apartments are always hard to fault. "
