Islington

Neighbourhood

Islington

Islington boasts some of London's best coffeeshops and trendy gastropubs, in particular, The Drapers Arms. Growing into an area of high-class status with amazing transport links, it’s no surprise this is a hot spot for celebrities and socialites.

Lunch at The Smokehouse

This fantastically smokey gastropub in Canonbury has an informal dining area where you can tuck into a great Saturday brunch menu.

Watch a show at Sadler's Wells

A world-class venue for contemporary ballet, flamenco, hip hop and more. Over half a million lovers of contemporary dance pass through these doors every year in search of original work.

Get lost at the Barbican!

Mandatory for architects and culture lovers, this sprawling brutalist marvel includes auditoriums, galleries, restaurants, a music school and the Museum of London.

Run Through Clissold Park

This fantastic park and green space is a perfect place to start your mornings. Stop off for a break at Clissold Park House for a coffee.

Sunshine Coffee at Towpath Cafe

Get a table in the sunshine on a summer’s day, and you might end up staying for hours. Relaxed entertainment is provided by families of swans, coots tending their nests, and passing bikes whizzing by.

Walk along Regents Canal

One of the prettier walks in the city you can start your journey in Angel and end up in Camden Market. The London Waterbus Co also offer a trip from Camden to Little Venice.

Top acts at the Almeida Theatre

This small venue with an international reputation is renowned for finding the industries best-emerging shows and talents. This ex-science society building also holds a library and laboratory.

Victoria Miro is a must!

One of the hottest art galleries in town is right next door, lately, the queues have consolidated the importance of this avant-garde gallery in the British Art scene.

A curry down Brick Lane

...be selective though. Most are watered down but we can recommend Tayyabs or Sheba.

Camden Passage Market

This charming market is filled with vintage and antique stalls and boutiques. Treasure hunters and those wanting to rummage through various gems will love this place.

Unmissable Coffee at Shoreditch Grind!

It has been five years now since the Grind became a reference in Old Street. Coffee pioneers and a music studio have proven to be the perfect mix for success. Pass by!

Relax at Kobkun Thai Therapy

It takes a local to know these neighbourhood gems, this place takes you back to Bangkok within minutes and you will be back to London with a real Thai massage on your back!

Where are my reviews?

Have you ever booked a holiday home with great reviews and found yourself disappointed? Us too.

That is why the Plum Guide doesn’t operate a traditional review system. Instead we test every one of our homes obsessively against 150 criteria. Only 1 in 100 homes we test, is accepted. This is one of them.

This home has been accepted because it:

  • Received numerous exceptional customer reviews
  • Passed all 150 criteria of our in-person hospitality test
  • Has 3 “super powers”: 3 unique things that make it a truly amazing stay
  • Received a unanimous "In" vote by the Plum Hospitality Judges
  • Received top marks from every Plum Guide guest, since being listed with us

"It was such a pleasure to meet Georgia and Rudy while testing their beautiful family home, a lovely façade and a beautiful door introduce you into a genuine London home, it’s not huge but space is used brilliantly. The architecture allows bursts of light and space, it incorporates sliding doors, skylights, beautiful concrete details and marble finishings. It’s a smart house with smart underfloor heating, smart tv, sound system remotely controlled, smart air venting system and more. It’s made for a family to enjoy even the simplest moments of life, a couple of examples are the gas BBQ outside and the TV in front of the bathtub. The service makes everything even better, the house is child proof, impeccable toiletries decorate the bathroom, the beds are luxurious and there is a Nespresso machine. All this in a buzzing area with easy access to Angel, Clerkenwell and Old Street. "

Georgia

Why we love Georgia
Georgia grew up by the sea in Wales and has made London her second home, a mother that knows what it takes for a house to be functional and uber pretty at the same time. Georgia and her lovely family excel in hosting and have prepared a 5-star experience for guests with an attentive eye with lots of care.
