Shoreditch

Neighbourhood

Shoreditch

Some say the hipsters have moved further east away from Shoreditch due to the area becoming too affluent, but there’s still evidence they’re still around. Graffiti, boutique shops and ramshackle bars are still opening.

5 Course Dinner At Lyle's

The set menu of 5 courses is £39 and is served to you by happy, super knowledgeable staff all in a gorgeously stripped back, minimal environment. They also have a michelin star.

Pizza at Pizza East

Part of the Soho house group and has one heck of an atmosphere inside. You’ve probably never seen so many pizza ovens under one roof and such a hustle bustle vibe all getting excited over pizza.

Cocktails at Joyeux Bordel

The name literally means ‘happy brothel’, but used in France to mean a happy mess. An intimate, subterranean cocktail bar located behind a slightly inconspicuous black door.

Daytime Drinks at Boundary Rooftop Bar

If you like rooftops and the weather is screaming out rooftop cocktails, look no further! This place is damn right beautiful and you’ll find one of the best dirty martinis in the city.

Breakfast at Dishoom

Inspired by Kyani & Co, an Irani bakery in Bombay, India. Dishoom brings the bustling Bombay cafe vibe to Shoreditch serving London’s best, Indian street food.

Morning Coffee at Slate

Slate is the newest addition to London's coffee scene. Following the antipodean style of bean love, great roast & velvety milk. Freshly made food all day and cakes to make your mouth water.

Browse The Redchurch Street Boutiques

The formerly shabby Redchurch Street has sharpened up its act and is attracting hipster hordes with its stylish boutiques, independent stores and a smattering of vintage shops.

Visit Columbia Road Flower Market

On Sunday the street is transformed into oasis of foliage and flowers. Everything from bedding plants to 10 foot banana trees are up for grabs. "Everthin' a fiver"?

People Watch down Broadway Market

This Saturday market is Hackney’s finest. Broadway Market is as much about seeking out quality food as it is about just letting your hair down and soaking up the Hackney vibe.

Cocktails at Nola

(Above Bedroom Bar) is your hosts favourite cocktail bar. A New Orleans inspired joint serving up quality interpretations of classic New Orleans libations with an interior to match.

Fried Chicken From Bird

If you need your fix of fried chicken, really, really posh fried chicken you have to stop by here. Fried chicken biscuits, fried chicken on waffles fried chicken in every way you could possibly want.

Healthy Peruvian Food from Andina

Martin Morales Andina is a modern ‘picanteria’: an all-day, pioneering restaurant serving healthy food and drinks from the Peru. Quiet and comfortable during the day and buzzing with life at night.

The Lows

  • There is no TV here, but plenty of music and you're located in the best area of Shoreditch.
  • The apartment requires stairs to access.
  • It's a vibrant area and it can get slightly noisy when you open the windows.

Have you ever booked a holiday home with great reviews and found yourself disappointed? Us too.

That is why the Plum Guide doesn’t operate a traditional review system. Instead we test every one of our homes obsessively against 32 criteria. Only 1 in 100 homes we test, is accepted. This is one of them.

This home has been accepted because it:

  • Received 6 exceptional customer reviews
  • Passed all 32 criteria of our in-person hospitality test
  • Has 3 “super powers”: 3 unique things that make it a truly amazing stay
  • Received a unanimous "In" vote by the Plum Hospitality Judges
  • Received top marks from every Plum Guide guest, since being listed with us

"I had a wonderful time getting to know Christina, it was no surprise that the house was so unique and captivating. It reflected a life on the move between various cities, stripped from clutter and plastic and focused on what really matters. A small space with a big rooftop terrace, the living area shares the space with the kitchen and the dining area, where a couple can have a romantic meal and after that, slow dance into the night. Mid-century furniture and several indoor plants supply the minimal vibe of the time we live in, handpicked toiletries will enhance the experience and the coffee culture around here will surely bring new knowledge to your dark habit. All this in a most enviable location 2 mins away from Shoreditch High Street. "

Christina

Why we love Christina
Christina is a tremendous host to whom sharing and meeting new people come up very naturally. A New Yorker who has lived in Paris, London and has an ongoing project in Congo. Christina works with advertising, publishing, and is a coffee connoisseur, the perfect person to ask all about the vibrant spots in Shoreditch.
