With excellent transport links, including Richmond and Kew Gardens stations, it's quick and easy to reach Central London and explore iconic landmarks.

You’ll find this modern pad on the ground floor of a townhouse in Richmond Hill. Comfortable for a family or group of friends, it’s worth noting that as a party of five, the trundle bed in the second bedroom will be in use, which does restrict space somewhat. Still, it’s a small price to pay for the location, along with the bonus of driveway parking and a large, shared garden. Locally, you can enjoy riverside restaurants, shops, cafes, and theatres, or hop on the Tube or train to reach central London in less than thirty minutes.

Set on a residential street in Richmond, there’s plenty of space for six people to spread out in this three-storey home. While it’s situated on the Heathrow flight path, plane noise will blend into the background as you enjoy all this home has to offer. The kitchen, conservatory and generous garden caught our eye – just the spot to spend time with the family. Locally, it’s a five-minute walk to the river or eight minutes on foot to Kew Gardens, where you’ll also find the nearest tube station for jaunts further afield.

We love how it has maintained a lot of the original features of the Grade-II listed building it is housed in, such as the sash windows and bedroom shutters. The interiors are very attractive with nods to mid-century design, which complement the period features for an elegant look. The location here won’t be for everyone, as the immediate area is lacking in attractions. But, you do have access to an allocated parking space and the train service into London Waterloo is frequent.

Located in leafy Kew, this elegant maisonette is an oasis of calm away from the big smoke. Set on the first and second floor of an Edwardian house, each room is decorated with a modern British feel. Skylights fill the main bedroom with light, and the pale colour palette lends a serenity to the room. Kew is a neighbourhood that feels like the countryside, while still being within easy reach of central London. Walk twelve minutes to Kew Gardens, where you’ll find acres of gorgeous greenery, and a large glass conservatory home to a wide array of tropical plants. Richmond Park is a twenty minute walk away, with its vast expanses of rugged grasslands home to free roaming red deer. There is a supermarket round the corner from the house as well as independent cafes and laidback restaurants. When you’re ready to take on the city, stroll to the tube station down the road and reach central London in thirty-five minutes on the District Line.

Barnes is one of London's most coveted neighbourhoods and it's homes like this that show you why. The Georgian townhouse is one of the oldest in Barnes Village — named as such since the area is bordered on three sides by the River Thames and parkland on the final side — although the interior is as modern as they come. Downstairs, the teal walls and dark brown floorboards make for an opulent canvas against which the varied artwork collection, marble kitchen surfaces and patterned ottoman stand out. We love the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen space, which leads to a 100-foot garden perfect for warm weather. There’s also a separate formal lounge, so you’ll have plenty of space. The Chiswick location gives you suburban tranquillity with urban convenience – it has the feel of a country escape but you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to cafes, restaurants, and boutique shops. This delightful home even backs onto Chiswick House and Gardens.

It's spread across two floors (and the stairs can be a little steep), with the living area perched on the top level to maximise natural light. We also like the location – it's about a thirty-minute train ride from central London, but it has a lot to offer. Kew Gardens and other green spaces are within walking distance, Chiswick's business parks can be reached by bus, and Heathrow is a short drive away.

In keeping with this, you'll find all of the usual delights – duck ponds, parks, a charming high street and quaint pubs right on your doorstep. It's an ideal base for those after a peaceful space in the city that you can relax in with friends and family, and one in which you will truly feel welcomed and at home. We love the comfortable and cosy rooms in the home, especially the master bedroom with its deep blue walls and plush pillows. On warmer days, make memories in the private back garden or take long afternoon strolls through this residential, and consequently very quiet, family-friendly area. The train station is also only a ten-minute walk for quick and easy access into central London (less than twenty minutes). Return to your inviting new home for a cheese and wine night in the country-style kitchen-come dining area, before enjoying a nightcap in front of the glow of the crackling fire.
