Sitting just on the edge of the Dutch-German border in Belfeld within a beautifully wooded holiday park, this chalet-style home is an ideal base for those looking to reconnect with nature and enjoy a peaceful break. 

You’ll instantly be charmed by its wood-panelled exterior, as well as its floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors that lead out onto a patio area – perfect for beginning mornings with an alfresco breakfast or ending evenings with a celebratory sundowner. Inside, the open-plan living space invites you to relax and unwind amidst the home’s serene setting, while the comfortable bedrooms are ready to ease you into a seamless night’s sleep at the end of each night. 

When it comes to things to see and do, while away sunny afternoons in the communal outdoor pool or give yourself a night off from cooking with a meal at the on-site restaurant. Elsewhere, the Speelpark Klein Zwitserland amusement park is a short drive away, while the city of Venlo is 12 kilometres away and easily reachable by car as well.


Chalet Wishes

This adorable bungalow is sure to meet your needs. We simply love the outside patio, perfect for spending quality time amongst the greenery in the summer, and we're sure you'll make use of the barbecue for a delicious lunch. Inside, you'll find a contemporary-styled home ready for you to use, however, with all the exploring you can do, we doubt you'll be in the home very often.

In Noordwijkerhout, within a bungalow park where the forest lies close, there are countless hikes into the dense woods to get lost and enjoy being in nature. Visit the star of the show, a floral scent and colour explosion with many hectares of flower fields where you can smell and see daffodils, hyacinths, and tulips. If you want to experience city life, take a twenty-seven-minute drive to Leiden and wander around the bustling Leiden Street Market, held every Wednesday and Saturday, or board a riverboat for a relaxing tour of the canals and the Old and New Rhine rivers.

Festival of Tulips

This modern, detached, single-storey home is located within a holiday park, on the banks of Het Zwarte Schaar and the river Ijssel. L-shaped and light filled, thanks to near floor to ceiling glass windows, this comfortable home features an open plan kitchen and dining cum living room complete with cosy fireplace. Sliding glass doors open out from the living room onto the terrace and surrounding greenery of the garden – the perfect place to relax or watch the kids play.

Promising fun for the whole family, this home’s holiday park location offers access to an outdoor communal pool and children’s playground as well as a guests only gym, sauna and steam room. Why not rent bikes or even a boat and set off on a little adventure? Alternatively, spend afternoon walking or fishing along the banks of the river before making a beeline for the park’s restaurant and bar come lunch or dinner time. For a taste of Netherlandish culture Zutphen, one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands is only 20km away. Home to 450 national monuments as well as historic castles, boutique shops and artisan eateries, you’ll be spoilt for choice when choosing how to spend your downtime. 


Row, Row, Row Your Boat

In the Oosterschelde National Park, a fascinating landscape of dunes and salt marshes, this modern resort is the perfect base for an exciting coastal stay. Surrounded by water, this is as close to nature as you can get while still being only a 20-minute drive from the charming city of Bergen op Zoom. Your home exudes contemporary design, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows offering incredible views of the surrounding nature, and enough modern amenities for a relaxing stay, including a dishwasher, coffee machine, and washing machine. Spend your days relaxing on your resort's beach, or hire a boat and get out on the water. However, the best way to see this region is by bike – hire one from the resort and explore the local trails with the wind in your hair. Nearby watersports centres also cater to the adventurous, where you can try kayaking, surfing, and kitesurfing. Spend your evenings in your cosy home or enjoy a meal at the resort's stylish restaurant, admiring the sunset over the water as you dine.

From walking to cycling and exploring the local lakeside wildlife – you'll be perfectly based for enjoying outdoor activities that reset the mind and reconnect you with nature. 

Located on a holiday park featuring different chalets and holiday homes, you'll have access to the on-site facilities, including a heated indoor swimming pool, saunas and fitness centre. 




Lost in the Woods

Perched on the banks of the Markermeer, this eco-friendly holiday resort is a sweet retreat in the great outdoors. Between cycling across the rolling fields, sailing along the steady water and strolling through the countryside, you'll never be short on adventures in the fresh air. Add in the playground ideal for little ones, on-site bicycle rentals and idyllic views and we think it's a winner. 

Better still, you can enjoy a cosy stay without leaving a big carbon footprint. There's no gas hook-up here – solar panels power the whole home – and it's a car-free resort, encouraging you to explore your surroundings on foot. 

After a wander, chill out in the stylish living room or take it easy and relax on the patio, instead. If it were up to us, we'd spend every evening out there, sipping cocktails and admiring the Netherlands sunset. 

Fancy a change of pace? Head to Hoorn, a quintessential Dutch town only 12km away. There you'll find independent boutiques, antique stores and Saturday market stalls perfect for browsing and plenty of restaurants to try when you grow peckish. We think it's an excellent option for a day trip. 

Markermeer Meadows

Step into this dreamy home on the Dutch isle of Texel and immerse yourself in island life. The chirps of birds, the crispness of the air, endless walking trails, and the North Sea at just a ten-minute walk away. For nature lovers, this is a slice of heaven. 

Neutral tones with hints of soft olive green cloak this contemporary home, a nod to the lush greenery just outside the patio doors. The home's unique curve adds a modern twist to the sleekness, while the mid-century furniture has that instantly identifiable and super chic Scandi-style. It's perfect for a group of friends, a small family, or couples to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. And the ideal place to unwind here is the sauna – any worries about the daily grind will shed away.

On the patio, your seating area is particularly lovely for a good breakfast spread in the morning. You can buy fresh bread from reception to rustle up some delicious breakfast sandwiches. When you want to get out and explore, one of the best ways to do so is by bike. You can hire bicycles and electric bikes from the friendly reception team – there are over 140km of tranquil cycling lanes to explore, stopping off at quaint cafes along the way. 

The vibrant town of De Koog is a must-see while you're here, and at just fifteen minutes by foot, getting to know this vibrant port town is easy. Pop into boutique shops, try out the local food, and take advantage of the town's buzzing nightlife. 

Cast a Light

Spend a relaxing family holiday and build beautiful memories with a stay at this charming home situated within a recreation park with plenty of fun activities to be enjoyed. Nestled amidst picturesque sand dunes and a five-minute drive away from the beach, this is an ideal location to forget the troubles of everyday life.

The home itself will welcome you with its cosy and warm ambience and plenty of comfy room to lounge about and enjoy quality times with your loved ones. Snuggle up on the plush sofa for movie nights or gather everyone at the dining table for delicious family meals. Outside you’ll find ample room to kick back and relax on the elegant garden seats and on those balmy summer evenings why not get everyone together for drinks under the stars. 

The park where you’ll be staying offers tons of options for the whole family to have fun: from the heated pool to a play area for the kids. You can also hire bikes and go exploring or drive a short distance to enjoy golf, tennis, horse riding and a variety of water sports. 

Family Times 

Natural lakes, vast meadows, towering trees – if you like the idea of Dutch countryside scenes, you only need to drive half an hour from Deventer to find them. While this wooden house is located in rural surroundings, it also offers facilities that you might not expect in such an environment.

On the way to your forest lodge, a few things might catch your family’s eye en route. There’s a huge communal pool complete with slides, plus playgrounds, basketball courts, and even kids' entertainers in summer. Leave the little ones to explore these exciting activities while you take a moment to relax in your stylish abode.

With its lush lawn and verandah out front, there’s plenty of space for picnics, or wholesome brunches in the great outdoors. There’s even a log burner out here for spooky stories around the fire at night. But just inside, the tall, angular shape of the building features cleverly placed windows and glass doors to accentuate bright, modern interiors. We love the lounge, where mid-century pieces meet rustic notes of wicker, rope, and wood. As striking inside as it is out, the idea of a holiday cabin has certainly been promoted to a luxury level.

Woodwind

Just half an hour by car from the city of Den Bosh, where history and culture combine over vast waterways, this home offers a quieter side to life. While you can of course attend the annual carnivals of the urban sprawl, having the option of peaceful horse riding and trail walking is something you can’t readily find in the city.

Set among lush, green lawns and swaying trees, the forest-like surroundings of this wooden home chime perfectly with the most striking feature of its interiors – beams. Alongside tastefully modern decor, we love the rustic contrast created by the exaggerated use of exposed timber beams and ceiling supports. It makes you feel in harmony with nature, at the same time creating a unique architectural scene. 

Mornings in the bedroom feel like waking up in a luxury treehouse. Leaf-print wallpaper mirrors what you can see when you open the doors to your private balcony, while timber frames lead you into the open-plan, minimalist bathroom. But don’t take a shower just yet – why not start the day in the log-burner hot tub outside, followed by a wood-fired feast on the barbecue? Trees truly are the host of this home.

Aboretum

In the riverland countryside outside the city of Venlo, this charming thatched farmhouse is a picture of Dutch provincial life. The small town of Baarlo is a short drive in one direction and the buzzing city of Venlo is an easy drive in the other. The surrounding countryside is famous for its agriculture, so you know produce picked up at the local markets and shops is going to be farm-fresh. The vast garden is home to towering trees, making dinners outside at the banquet-sized table a delight. 

Inside, the kitchen with its Belfast sink and huge wooden dining table feels like the farmhouse kitchen of old – the perfect spot to cook up some of that fresh, local produce. There are two lounges to choose from – the main lounge in moss-green with plush tufted sofas and an ornamental fireplace, and a snuggly smaller room with a collection of books for some downtime. Plus, there’s a wood-fired hot tub amidst the trees that can be rented, just ask your host.   

Brandyfoot

If you want to see a windmill during your trip to The Netherlands then you're in luck, because this charming home is right next door to one. Located in the Beemster area – famous for its cheese – this home is a perfectly peaceful place to spend a wonderful holiday. 

The bright green exterior gives way to a light and spacious living area where you can settle down and unwind between your excursions. The dining area has plenty of room for all your guests to enjoy a delicious home-cooked feast together, with several windows framing the countyside views outside. And, there's also a wonderful garden and terrace, so you can enjoy a sundowner in the fresh air on balmy evenings. 

From here, the coast is just a fifteen-minute drive away – we recommend taking a dip in the sea at Zwembad Warder. There are plenty of cycle paths, so you can hop on your bike and admire the fields and canals on two wheels. And, there's also a local tennis club where you can practice your serve, along with a golf club just fifteen minutes away by car.
