That said, the stellar locale and mod cons are everything you’d want from a city stay.

Wonderfully bright and open, the living space will make soon make you feel right at home. 

When it's time to soak up the Spanish sun, drink sangria and tick off your tourist itinerary, navigating the city will be a delight. Take some time to discover Madrid's lively Plaza Mayor, it's boutique shopping and traditional eateries are eight minutes from your door on foot. Visit some of Goya's most famous paintings at the Museo Nacional del Prado, a ten-minute walk away, before stopping off at the bustling Plaza del Sol on your way back home.

There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, so you’ll never be far from your next great meal, and the apartment has a well-equipped kitchen and dining table for those wanting to dine in. You’ll also have an attractive living room to enjoy, and a balcony where you can watch the world go by. This apartment is perfect for a family or group of friends. 

City Sun

Right in the heart of Madrid, this contemporary apartment is in a top-notch location for exploring. Step out the front door and you'll be straight into the city's hustle and bustle – buzzing Gran Vía is two minutes on foot, with Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor walkable in under ten. Whether you fancy sightseeing, shopping or sampling the local cuisine, this is the place to be, with restaurants, boutiques and all the landmarks within easy. 

When you're not taking advantage of this super-central locale, relax back at home with a glass of Spanish vino. Hues of bold yellow, crisp white and sleek black give this chic pad a pop of personality – a perfect reflection of the dazzling modern art piece hanging proudly on the living room wall. Elsewhere, clever Japanese-style doors make the most of the natural light, so although the rooms are a bit small, they're all quite stylish. We're not going to lie – the kitchen, in particular, is pretty compact, but with Madrid's many eateries on your doorstep, we doubt you'll do much cooking.

This apartment is located on iconic Sevilla Street, right in the heart of Madrid. You’ve got all the city’s must-sees, including Museo del Prado, Palacio Real, and Plaza Mayor, on your doorstep. And if you want to venture further afield, Sevilla metro station is at the end of the road. Most of the windows in the home are skylights so you won’t get much of a view from here, but the open-plan living space has everything you’ll need, including a handy breakfast bar and comfortable lounge area. The second bedroom is very cosy – we think it’s best suited to a child or someone travelling light.

Madrid's Urban Elegance

With Calle Gran Vía close by, this home will definitely appeal to shopaholics. You'll also find plenty of amazing restaurants and bars in the vicinity. Attractions within walking distance include Plaza Canovas del Castillo with its Fountain of Neptune and vibrant La Plaza de Chueca. Back at this apartment, we love the French doors that open out onto Juliet balconies. There's a separate, compact but well-equipped kitchen for creating some tasty tapas, too. This home is ideal for couples or business travellers seeking an elegant base in a fantastic location.

Located just outside Plaza Mayor’s arches, this ideally located apartment is the perfect base for those looking to soak up Madrid's vibrant, buzzing centre. 

Blending rustic charm with stylish modern accents, this home feels wonderfully Spanish. We love the exposed beamed ceilings and the wood floors, as well as the houseplants and colourful rug in the living area that add additional characterful flair. 
 
The bedroom is elegantly pared back, offering a comfortable night’s sleep, while the dining area invites celebratory homemade tapas feasts when you’re not out sampling the local dining scene. 
 
Our favourite spot, however, is the private balcony with its wide-sweeping views over the city’s rooftops. Enjoy an alfresco breakfast here while catching some morning rays or watch the sunset from your privileged position over an evening glass of Spanish wine. 
 
When you’re ready to venture out for some sightseeing, you’ll find Plaza Mayor less than a minute’s walk away, while bustling Puerta del Sol is a four-minute stroll from your door. Elsewhere, the Royal Palace of Madrid is a ten-minute walk, the famous Museo Nacional del Prado is an eighteen-minute stroll, while leafy El Retiro Park is just over twenty minutes away on foot. 


Mayor Muse

Situated in Puerta del Sol, this central apartment invites you to experience the joys of Madrid with ease. From here, you'll be within walking distance of Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace of Madrid and Museo Nacional del Prado. You’re also just a few steps from Sol metro station, so the whole city is at your fingertips. Inside, you’ll find a modern open-plan space with a balcony and a dining area to share leisurely meals. Keep in mind that two guests will be sleeping on the living room sofa bed here, so it does lack some privacy. And if you’re visiting with little ones, your host can provide a cot upon request.

Sol Retreat

Found in a literary neighbourhood once home to many great Spanish writers, this apartment is perfect for writers looking for inspiration and anyone travelling for business. Tucked away in a building originally constructed in the 1880s, the home still focuses on copper and brass – and all of the original charm – by keeping its decorative approach pretty minimalistic. 

Though the kitchen is compact, you’ll be able to brew coffee and cobble together a light bite to enjoy alfresco out on the terrace. Set off afterwards to see the iconic sculpture of the Bear and the Strawberry Tree in Plaza del Sol – only minutes away – or visit the surrounding art museums. Spend evenings seeing a show at the historic Teatro Español and grab a drink before coming home and setting up your laptop at the dining table – it’s time to write a novel.

El Literato

While there's no kitchen here, you'll have all you need for a comfortable stay, including a coffee machine and a fabulous wrought-iron balcony, perfect for a morning perch and sip in the sun. And, at the end of a day of sightseeing, you'll love flopping down on the plush velvet sofa or soft bed, before enjoying a restful night's sleep, ready to do it all over again. 

When it's time to head out, you're a short five-minute stroll from the Plaza del Sol, filled with iconic sculptures, bars, and restaurants. If you're looking for something to clench your creative thirst, take the ten-minute walk to the Museo Nacional del Prado, celebrating the works of Spanish romantic painters. When dinnertime arrives, reach the bustling Plaza Mayor for sangrias and tapas, only eight minutes away on foot.
