When it comes to things to see and do, while away sunny afternoons in the communal outdoor pool or give yourself a night off from cooking with a meal at the on-site restaurant. Elsewhere, the Speelpark Klein Zwitserland amusement park is a short drive away, while the city of Venlo is 12 kilometres away and easily reachable by car as well.


Chalet Wishes

This adorable bungalow is sure to meet your needs. We simply love the outside patio, perfect for spending quality time amongst the greenery in the summer, and we're sure you'll make use of the barbecue for a delicious lunch. Inside, you'll find a contemporary-styled home ready for you to use, however, with all the exploring you can do, we doubt you'll be in the home very often.

In Noordwijkerhout, within a bungalow park where the forest lies close, there are countless hikes into the dense woods to get lost and enjoy being in nature. Visit the star of the show, a floral scent and colour explosion with many hectares of flower fields where you can smell and see daffodils, hyacinths, and tulips. If you want to experience city life, take a twenty-seven-minute drive to Leiden and wander around the bustling Leiden Street Market, held every Wednesday and Saturday, or board a riverboat for a relaxing tour of the canals and the Old and New Rhine rivers.

Festival of Tulips

This modern, detached, single-storey home is located within a holiday park, on the banks of Het Zwarte Schaar and the river Ijssel. L-shaped and light filled, thanks to near floor to ceiling glass windows, this comfortable home features an open plan kitchen and dining cum living room complete with cosy fireplace. Why not rent bikes or even a boat and set off on a little adventure? Alternatively, spend afternoon walking or fishing along the banks of the river before making a beeline for the park’s restaurant and bar come lunch or dinner time. For a taste of Netherlandish culture Zutphen, one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands is only 20km away. Home to 450 national monuments as well as historic castles, boutique shops and artisan eateries, you’ll be spoilt for choice when choosing how to spend your downtime. 


Row, Row, Row Your Boat

Just half an hour by car from the city of Den Bosh, where history and culture combine over vast waterways, this home offers a quieter side to life. While you can of course attend the annual carnivals of the urban sprawl, having the option of peaceful horse riding and trail walking is something you can’t readily find in the city.

Set among lush, green lawns and swaying trees, the forest-like surroundings of this wooden home chime perfectly with the most striking feature of its interiors – beams. Alongside tastefully modern decor, we love the rustic contrast created by the exaggerated use of exposed timber beams and ceiling supports. It makes you feel in harmony with nature, at the same time creating a unique architectural scene. 

Mornings in the bedroom feel like waking up in a luxury treehouse. Leaf-print wallpaper mirrors what you can see when you open the doors to your private balcony, while timber frames lead you into the open-plan, minimalist bathroom. But don’t take a shower just yet – why not start the day in the log-burner hot tub outside, followed by a wood-fired feast on the barbecue? Trees truly are the host of this home.

Aboretum

Natural lakes, vast meadows, towering trees – if you like the idea of Dutch countryside scenes, you only need to drive half an hour from Deventer to find them. While this wooden house is located in rural surroundings, it also offers facilities that you might not expect in such an environment.

On the way to your forest lodge, a few things might catch your family’s eye en route. There’s a huge communal pool complete with slides, plus playgrounds, basketball courts, and even kids' entertainers in summer. Leave the little ones to explore these exciting activities while you take a moment to relax in your stylish abode.

With its lush lawn and verandah out front, there’s plenty of space for picnics, or wholesome brunches in the great outdoors. There’s even a log burner out here for spooky stories around the fire at night. But just inside, the tall, angular shape of the building features cleverly placed windows and glass doors to accentuate bright, modern interiors. We love the lounge, where mid-century pieces meet rustic notes of wicker, rope, and wood. As striking inside as it is out, the idea of a holiday cabin has certainly been promoted to a luxury level.

Woodwind

With a private terrace overlooking Kamperland's marina, this modern apartment offers a dreamy coastal getaway. Less than ten minutes from a selection of expansive white-sand beaches, you can spend your days by the sea and evenings cosied up in the homely living space.

The interiors of this pad make a strong case for minimalism – the pared-back decor and neutral colour scheme lets the outside scenery take centre stage. Slide the glass doors open and dine inside, or step onto the patio and enjoy your meals alfresco. The modern kitchen hosts everything you'll need to prepare a tasty feast.

From the double bedrooms, you can step directly outside each morning and watch the boats come and go. If you're itching for some beach time, hop in the car and reach the shoreline in a matter of minutes. Don't forget to pack your bucket and spade – these strands are famous for their powdery sand.

Fresh off the Boat

A short stroll will bring you down to Callantsoog Strand, a long, sandy stretch of beach where you can enjoy walks and swimming. When you want to explore further afield, simply do as the Dutch do and hop on your bike to discover charming villages and plenty of canals. And, nature fans can take a quick drive over to the Texel ferry port, and explore the island's national park and sand dunes. 

The Wildflowers

Overlooking the Marina Kamperland, this modern apartment is only a fifteen-minute cycle from the sandy shores of the North Sea. Here in the idyllic setting of Zeeland, you can pursue your favourite activities in the great outdoors and appreciate quality time with your loved ones. Laidback restaurants and a lovely bakery await, just five minutes away from your front door. We think that the Veerse Meer marina is another worthwhile visit, offering yacht clubs, sailing schools, and several watersports taking place on the lagoon.

Perched above the water, you'll find this home to be a stark contrast to the stresses of city life. Wake up in a peaceful bedroom and savour slow mornings in the open-plan living space. Brightened by its floor-to-ceiling windows, you could share a breakfast of wentelteefjes with your family and plan the day around the dining table. Between Wind And Water

A lakeside break is on offer at the wood-clad farmhouse just outside the town of Bruinisse. It sits right on the riverside where you can spot ducks and the odd great crested grebe. On Grevelingen lake, a short walk away, you can even see a colony of flamingos in the winter months. The patio, furnished with an outdoor dining table, faces the river and a huge stretch of lawn provides a pitch for ball games in the sun. Although it looks traditional on the outside, inside this home is a haven of modernity. The open-plan living area is a social space with light wood floors and stone-grey sofas to unwind on at the end of the day. Bedrooms are sunny spaces and the ground floor room has direct access to a patio via glass doors.

You’re within an exclusive holiday resort here. Exploring the grounds, you’ll find an indoor swimming pool for all seasons with flumes and slides for the kids. Walking trails lead past the river and there’s a kids club with entertainment to keep little ones occupied. A short drive away, the lakeside town of Bruinisse offers boat trips from the pier and has a healthy crop of restaurants and cafés.

Outside of your houseboat, you’ll find yourself in an exciting area, renowned for its many water activities and the iconic Sneek Watergate, the symbol of the city.
