This is the kind of cosy holiday home we daydream about. It’s set in 8 acres of open meadows and babbling brooks, surrounded by the rich landscape of the Catskill Mountains. There are ski slopes just a ten-minute drive away, and you’ll have your pick of hiking trails. There’s a hot tub and a fire pit, with a splendid area for alfresco dining on the deck. We love the writing nook in the loft and the fireplace you can curl up around. Though it feels a million miles from civilisation, you’ll be just a thirteen-minute drive from Margrateville and its shops and restaurants.

We recommend bringing a car. In winter, a four-wheel drive is recommended to handle the snow and gravel roads.
