Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Hudson Valley, this restored historic 1800s schoolhouse offers a tranquil retreat. The house is surrounded by 3 acres of woodland, and there are two decks for dining alfresco and to take in the views. Some fairly steep steps lead down to the sloped garden, but the reward is a hammock to relax in and a fire pit to gather around as the sun sets. If you prefer to be cosy indoors, there's a wood burner in the living room too. Though this home is bordered by forest, you'll be just a ten-minute drive from the city of Hudson with its antique shops, restaurants and bars.

If you're bringing little ones, there are fairly steep steps down to the garden area, and the ground is sloped, so they'll need to be supervised at all times.
There's a ground floor bedroom and bathroom here.
At full capacity, there's only one bathroom for six guests.
This home is less than 2.5 hours from New York City. Though it's only a ten-minute ride from Hudson with its Amtrak station, we still recommend a car to make the most of the area (taxi services are available ahead of time too). In the winter, we advise a four-wheel drive vehicle that can handle the snow and gravel roads here. There's free parking on the premises.
