This London pad made it into our collection for its central location. Culture vultures can walk to the British Museum and for retail therapy, the shops of Oxford Street are just a five-minute stroll away. The traditional decor here won’t be everyone’s cup of tea (and the kitchen and bathroom feel a little dated) but we love the ornate fireplace and large sash windows. The bed is on a mezzanine level which gives you more living space below but you must be able to climb steps to reach it and the ceiling height is a little low. While the apartment doesn’t have any outdoor space, you’ve got a trio of well-known parks (Hyde, Regent’s, and Green) nearby.

Home truths

The traditional decor here might not be to everyone's taste. It feels a little dated in parts.

The bedroom is on the mezzanine level and semi-open to the space below, so privacy is limited. You must be able to climb stairs to reach the mezzanine. The ceiling is low here so it might not be suitable for taller guests.

We think the small kitchen is better suited to prepping lighter bites than large meals.

This home doesn’t have air conditioning – your host can provide fans during the summer.

The heating system at the home is centrally managed.

Bed linen, towels, toiletries, and supplies are provided at check-in and on a weekly basis for those staying longer than seven nights.

Parties are strictly not allowed at this home.

About Fitzrovia

Wedged between Bloomsbury, Soho, Covent Garden and Marylebone, Fitzrovia is a haven for foodies, art lovers and shoppers alike. You'll be rubbing shoulders with stylish local architects, gallerists and other artsy animals every evening from 6pm onwards, either sipping a cocktail in a glamorous bar or having a pint in one of the many historic and characterful local pubs. The weekends are a bit quieter when the local workers disperse, which is a good time to stroll up to Regent's Park, marvel the glories of the British Museum or head to the shops on Oxford Street.
