A Grade II listed cottage, it's fair to say this Devon home has plenty of character. We loved just about everything here – with a small, plant-lined garden ideal in summer, a log burner to make things cosy when it's cold outside, and a charming orangery besides, it's an ideal setting for a family getaway. And although we thought the metal frame beds weren't really in line with the rest of the decor, the freestanding bathtub is a welcome addition. When you want to explore, you're just a short drive from both the River Taw and sandy beaches.

Home truths
Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay. There’s free parking for up to two cars on the driveway, though it will be a squeeze with large cars. More free parking is available nearby.
The ceiling in some areas is on the low side. It might not be suitable for taller guests.
Your host may be able to accommodate an earlier check-in or later check-out time on request.
Two well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you during your stay. The host asks kindly that they remain off the furniture and remain downstairs.
You'll need to be over the age of 25 to check in here, so it's not suitable for a group of younger guests.
If you're travelling for work, you'll find a desk in the single bedroom.
