Embrace the great outdoors at this Cumbrian charmer tucked away in the countryside near Wigton. The perfect base for exploring the stunning Lake District National Park and the Solway Coast, there are trails close by for walks with your four-legged companions in tow. And when thoughts turn to food, West Curthwaite’s traditional village inn is within walking distance. A home for all seasons, there’s a wood-burning fire to cosy up beside in winter months and a suntrap terrace for alfresco dining on long summer evenings. It’s worth noting that the last two guests will have to make do with a sofa bed in the family room here – great for teens seeking a little more independence, but it won’t suit everyone.
