A five-minute stroll from Le Marais, this apartment is perfectly placed to explore Paris. Multiple metros nearby can whisk you across the city with ease. Or, stay local and swing by the neighbourhood's sidewalk cafes, bakeries, and gourmet food shops. Set on the first floor of a typical Haussmannian building without a lift, the interior has charm and character in spades. The kitchen and bathroom aren't quite as stylish, but the French doors in the living room and the separate dining space are sure to please. If a quintessentially Parisian pad is what you're after, we think this fits the bill.

Home truths

This flat is on the first floor of a traditional building. There's no lift here, so you'll need to be comfortable climbing roughly twenty steps.

Given this home's central spot on a street with shops and eateries, some slight street noise is to be expected.

The bathtub has a hand-held showerhead.

No parking is provided, but you won't need a car in Paris. We think the best way to explore is on foot, or you can zip around on the metro. There are four different metro lines within walking distance.

The fireplaces are for decoration purposes only.

If you're travelling for work, you won't find a desk here. However, the dining table doubles as a laptop-friendly workspace.

About Belleville - Buttes Chaumont

Belleville is at the heart of Paris' 19th arrondissement, although it was only included in Paris' city boundaries from 1860 onwards. It's now home to photographers, sculptors and artists in general as well as families. Belleville's heart however is working class and is...
