In the heart of Porto, this contemporary apartment is a fuss-free base to call home. Our favourite feature – and yours too, we reckon – is the private balcony. Boasting views across the city, it's an excellent spot to savour a glass of port wine after sightseeing and watch the sun go down. Both bedrooms are roomy and bright, although the fifth guest will have to sleep on the sofa bed in the living area. Location-wise, you're not far from the shops on Rua de Santa Catarina or the buzz of downtown. Also nearby is Trindade Metro station for adventures further afield.
