Tucked away in Manhattan's Upper West Side, this studio apartment makes a cosy home base for couples, solo adventurers, and professionals. We love the location, with Riverside Park and the Hudson River just steps away. The iconic Central Park is easily walkable, and nearby bus and underground stations place NYC's shops and restaurants at your fingertips. Furry friends are welcome to join you here for a fee, and the building offers pet bathing facilities as well as a communal gym for getting in that daily workout, adding extra practicality to your stay.

Home truths
Parking in New York City can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to easily accessible public transport where possible. 72nd Street Station is a short walk away, where you can catch lines 1, 2, and 3.
There are a couple of steps up to the home's entrance and a lift in the building.
The kitchen here is very small and lacks counter space, so we think it's better suited to prepping lighter bites than large meals.
The gym and pet wash area are shared with other residents of the building.

Local guide
About Upper West Side
Stately townhouses and grand apartment buildings characterise this affluent, family-friendly neighbourhood nestled between two parks (Central and Riverside). The mature, refined feel of the residential side streets balances with a buzzy bar and bistro scene along the tree-lined avenues – you’ll never be short of a brunch cafe or Jewish bakery here (and by the way, the cookies at Levain are legendary for good reason). Two of New York’s best...

Take the kids to the American Museum of Natural History
NYC's most entertaining museum, is also the site of films from 1949's On the Town to 2006's Night at the Museum, and it's a diversion way too fun to leave to the children. Have brunch nearby and go learn something!
Stop by Gray's Papaya - hot dog heaven
Undeniably the best hot dogs in NYC, possibly the world! Two dogs and a large papaya drink will cure the worst hangover, or at least make the day negotiable.
Visit the New-York Historical Society
This lesser-known and fascinating collected works of historical New-York (with its original hyphen, please), houses the nation's first Center for Women's History. This is a must-visit!
Explore the Eclectic Grand Bazaar
Discover a perfect blend of art, clothing, jewelry, and handmade gifts at this indoor/outdoor market. With vendors offering vintage, antique, and new items, as well as a diverse range of food options, it's a must-visit for a fun and unique shopping experience.
Take a culinary trip to Cali at Playa Betty's
Playa Betty's serves beach style Mexican/Californian food in a bright and fun environment.
Catch a show at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts
Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is a 16.3-acre complex of multiple buildings built in 1955 to nurture and showcase the best of NYC dance, opera, theatre, and music.
Indulge in hot cookies at Levain Bakery - 74th St
Nestled in New York City's Upper West Side, Levain headquarters is a cozy neighbourhood bakery where locals are greeted by name.
Stock up at Zabars, a West side mecca
This is a gourmet emporium specializing in smoked fish, caviar, coffee, cheese, kitchen goods and housewares.
Head to Charles' Country Pan Fried Chicken
Harlem soul-food standard for old-school skillet-fried chicken served all-you-can-eat or with sides. Open from 11am to midnight, this is a must eat spot!
Enjoy a Riviera vibe at Nice Matin
This French-Mediterranean bistro has indoor and outdoor seating and a bar up front if are waiting on a table or just want a cocktail.
Explore Central Park
Sprawling park with pedestrian paths, ballfields, a zoo, carousel, boat rentals, and a reservoir. A lush and extensive area within NYC where you can spend an entire day.
