Peace and quiet await at this eye-catching, 300-year-old lakeside barn in idyllic Sonning Eye, just an eight-minute drive from the buzzing shops and pretty high street of Henley-on-Thames. The highlight is the vast outdoor space, where expansive lawns provide room for ball games, a basketball court is perfect for shooting hoops, and a generous patio invites alfresco meals. By the lake, a seating area is the ideal spot for sundowners, while the fire pit is made for toasting marshmallows under the stars. Inside, the vast open-plan kitchen, living and dining area is designed for socialising, with exposed beams, floor-to-ceiling windows and comfy sofas overlooking the pond. A second sitting room, complete with popcorn, is perfect for cosy movie nights, while each en-suite bedroom feels every bit as luxurious as a boutique hotel.

At capacity, two guests will be on the sofa bed in the lounge area of one of the bedrooms.
The fireplaces are purely decorative and can't be used. The outdoor fire pit is put away for winter and available for summer months only.

About Reading
Rich in history, Reading was a place of pilgrimage in medieval times – its 12th-century abbey is now an atmospheric ruin beside Forbury Gardens. While in 1895, Oscar Wilde was imprisoned in the county jail here and the experience drove him to write The Ballad of Reading Gaol. Known more these days for its annual Reading Festival, this vibrant town attracts nearly 100,000 music lovers every August to worship...
