Whether you’re visiting King’s Stanley for a restful break or an energising walking holiday, this cottage, dating back to 1676, is a comfortable base for a couple of a close-knit group of friends. We loved the original features, and the wood-burning stove is a welcome addition during the cooler months. Outside, there’s a small patio with a seating area for enjoying a glass of Pimm’s in the summer. When you’re ready to explore, the Cotswolds are on the doorstep, and the pubs, restaurants and shops of Stroud are no more than a seventeen-minute bus or car ride away.

Its narrow streets, lined with ancient honey-coloured stone buildings, lead to a beautiful parish church renowned for its 99 yew trees and intricate table tombs, creating a scene that feels almost suspended in time.
