Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
You’ll find this home nestled just outside the Lake District National Park – a quintessentially English manor house in one of the most beautiful corners of the country. Originally built in 1815, it pairs period charm with contemporary comforts, like a huge wine cellar and tasting room and a cinema room for movie nights. And when the sun shines (we promise it does sometimes), the extensive landscaped gardens are perfect for picnics and games on the lawn. All this, and the lakes, fells, and charming villages of the Lake District are within easy reach, along with the windswept coast of Morecambe Bay.

Home truths
While some of the bedrooms and bathrooms aren't photographed, expect the style and quality to be consistent with the rest of the home.
The accommodation here is set across the main house, which has nine bedrooms, and two separate one-bedroom guest houses which each have their own kitchens. The second guest house is only available for bookings of more than twenty people.
For those with reduced mobility, there's a ground floor bedroom and bathroom here. However, the house is set over four floors and there are quite a few steps in the garden, so it might not be the best option for less mobile guests.
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free. You'll need to request them in advance.
Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay. Parking is available.

Local guide
About The Lake District
Poets and novelists have often escaped to the Lake District for a spot of inspiration. Famously, Wordsworth pondered about daffodils and clouds during his time here. The undulating hills are tracked with drystone walls while sheep graze, and farmsteads enjoy untouched beauty for miles around. England’s biggest lake, Windermere, cuts through a valley, sleek as glass and hosts a litany of cosy-pub-filled towns and water sports venues along its shores....

Host
This home is managed by Oliver
This home is managed by a business on behalf of its owner. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Nearly twenty years ago, Oliver and his friend began curating the world's most unique and rustic getaways. Driven by their own unforgettable experience at a chateau, they have grown remarkably since then. Much like Plum, they believe in hand-picked luxury that doesn't break the bank.
