This barn conversion is just the right size for a rural getaway – and just a short drive from Lewes and Brighton. The first thing you'll notice is the original oak beams, which are now a prominent feature in the double-height living space. It's hard to resist a spiral staircase, and this one leads to a cosy twin bedroom, but we'd recommend the ground-floor bedroom if you prefer more privacy. The patio is the perfect place for a morning coffee or evening drinks – you probably won't be here the rest of the day, not with bustling Brighton and the tranquil South Downs on your doorstep.

The spiral staircase to the second bedroom is very narrow, so guests with reduced mobility should take care. Children should also be supervised. Please note there's limited headspace here.
There is one parking space available at this home. Access is via a gate that opens onto the main road, so there may be some traffic noise.
The owners live in the main house opposite, so this may not suit guests looking for complete privacy.
