Quirky and steeped in history, this studio apartment will appeal to holiday-makers wanting to stay somewhere a little different. The warehouse flat has, over the years, been a book factory, an illegal club, and an ink storage room. Now it’s a charmingly petite pied-à-terre set up with a small double bed and two sleeping pods. Little ones will enjoy the novelty of their cosy sleeping spaces, particularly the Harry Potter-themed ‘cupboard under the stairs’, while grown-ups will appreciate the steampunk style of the home. You can walk to the Elephant & Castle tube station in less than thirty minutes, and explore the rest of London from there.

Home truths
This is a studio apartment so space is limited. The sleeping areas are compact – two guests can sleep on a small double bed, and two children can be accommodated in sleeping pods. The first pod is above the small double bed, accessed by a ladder. The second pod is a Harry Potter-themed space under the stairs with a mattress on the floor.
You’ll have access to a small communal courtyard.
Your host provides a starter supply of toiletries, kitchen roll, and toilet roll. There’s a supermarket 500 metres away when you need to stock up.
We think the kitchenette is better suited to preparing light bites and snacks rather than full meals.
