The ideal Roman retreat, this apartment is mere moments from the Colosseum. You couldn't ask for a better vantage point if sightseeing is on your to-do list. Outside, you'll find the famous landmark at the end of the street, plus nearby public transportation makes it easy to explore further afield. The apartment itself is on the first floor of a 17th-century building. There's a compact kitchenette suitable for snacks, a bright living area with a glimpse of the Colosseum, and a sofa bed for flexible sleeping arrangements. The local area can be a little noisy, and there isn't a lift, but we think it's a solid option for short stays.

Home truths
At full capacity, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot upon request.
This apartment is on the first floor of a historic building without a lift. You'll need to climb stairs.
You won't find an oven here – though there is a hob. We think the kitchen is better suited to prepping lighter bites than large meals.
Though the windows are soundproof, this area is quite busy and there's a restaurant near the building. Some street noise is likely.
