Once a barn, this converted two-storey cottage in Coln St Alwyns is an attractive option for families and small friend groups planning a Cotswolds retreat. The home makes full use of those high ceilings, with only one of its two bedrooms found up a flight of stairs – the rest of the space is given over to a grand living room, dining area and kitchen, with light flooding in and vaulted wooden beams overhead. There's also a private double bedroom on the ground floor for those less comfortable making the climb. The cottage has its own enclosed garden and terrace area, offering peace and plenty of greenery, while you'll be able to reach some of the Cotswolds' most storied towns and villages by car within half an hour.
