This Italian cottage is located in San Siro, at the foot of a mountain, 1.5 kilometres from Lake Como. While its sloping surroundings might be hard on the legs, they make for great views – you can even see the lake from the home’s private terrace. Two of the bedrooms here are interconnected, so aren’t completely private, and the stairs leading up to them are very steep. We think these rooms are best suited to a family with older children. Golf enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that there’s a golf course 13 kilometres away. And for days out with the kids, head to Lido di Menaggio, an 8-kilometre drive, where you’ll find swimming pools, a sandy beach, and children’s activities.
