Far enough north to savour the country air, but close enough to London to reach King's Cross within an hour, this peaceful bungalow on the edge of Elstree is ideal for anyone looking for a break from the city. With room for six across four private bedrooms, families or friend groups eager for a rural escape will find plenty to like, both indoors and out. On the grounds, there's a bright open living area, two separate bathrooms (one with a bathtub), and even a stone fire pit for toasting marshmallows. Further afield, you can take a horseback ride along country paths, look out for planes using the nearby Aerodrome, or take a half hour drive to the enchanting Chiltern Hills.
