Nestled in the foothills of Mount Nenjudake, one of the 3600 mountains of the Kii Peninsula, this home offers a unique blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. This 120-year-old kominka has been lovingly restored to provide an authentic Japanese experience. It’s in a rural setting so you’ll need a car, but you’ll benefit from clear skies and a restful atmosphere. Rent paddleboards from your host and drift down the Hidagawa River, or soak in the 1300-year-old hot springs nearby. Feast on meals prepared by a private chef before drifting off to sleep in comfortable beds. This home is special.
