A rest and reset are firmly on the cards at this Cretan villa, delivering sweeping sea and mountain views in every direction. Well-suited to families, kids will love you for the private pool and table tennis set-up, and a lengthy shaded terrace is tailor-made for easy alfresco barbecues. Inside, the sleek, modern interiors are faultless, while a sea-facing terrace leading off the primary bedroom suite seals the deal. Set in the peaceful Anissaras area near Chersonisos, a car is recommended for sightseeing and trips to nearby Anissaras Beach (one kilometre away). Although with a handy shop and welcoming taverna 150 metres from the door, car-free days are just as doable.
