Views of Lake Como don't come much better than this – and neither do penthouse locations. You're within walking distance of Fiumelatte for evening meals and the train station (just 300 metres away) for trips to nearby historic Varenna. Rather travel by boat? Hop on the ferry (a three-kilometre drive away) to glitzy Bellagio and beyond. Back home, the main bedroom suite, with its dressing area and Jacuzzi for two, more than delivers. However, it's worth noting that the headspace in the mezzanine second bedroom is low and better suited for children. But for those jaw-dropping views from the private terrace, we can forgive that.

Home truths
This penthouse sleeps four guests, but the last two will sleep on a mezzanine which has restricted head height and is semi-open to the space below. We think this space is better suited to older children.
The home is spread across three floors, so it might not be the best option for those with reduced mobility.
While that sweeping sun terrace is all yours, you’ll share the wider garden grounds.
On-site garage parking is available here. For car-free evenings out, there are restaurants and trattorias on foot in Fiumelatte.
