This villa is a haven on the French Riviera, yet it's just a short drive from glamorous Saint-Tropez. The gardens are surrounded by pine trees, offering some blissful shade, but sunseekers can retreat to the spacious first-floor terraces. Inside, the furnishings might lack colour (neutral tones are favoured), but floor-to-ceiling windows mean those greens and blues aren't far away. Start your day with a workout in the gym before breakfast on the terrace, or take a walk down the nearby beach for a dip in the Mediterranean – it might be warmer than your unheated swimming pool. Light the barbecue in the evening for an alfresco dinner and watch the sun set through the pines.

The saltwater swimming pool is unheated. It also isn't fenced, so if you're bringing little ones, they'll need to be supervised.
