This Lake Como apartment sits right on the shore in the quiet district of Santa Maria Rezzonico. You’re only a few minutes’ walk from local restaurants and bars, and there’s even a little beach nearby where you can swim in the lake. Inside, you get lake views from both the kitchen and one of the upper bedrooms, which has a sofa bed and its own lounge area. It’s set over two levels, so there’s enough space for everyone to spread out. The exterior of the building and some of the finishes are a bit tired, but the location makes it worth it. Just be ready for a workout, as access is via around 120 cobblestone steps.

Home truths
There's no lift here, and there are approximately 120 steps leading up to the front door. It might not be the best option for those with reduced mobility.
At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the upstairs bedroom, which has its own living area.
There's no private parking at this home. It's in a pedestrian zone, but you can leave your car in the free public car park at the top of the village, and access the apartment via the village steps.
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free. You'll need to request them in advance.
Heating is only available between 15th October and 30th April.
The communal areas of this building might appear a little worn and dated in parts. We think some areas of this home could do with a refresh, too. In particular, the living room walls look unfinished.
The ceiling in some areas is on the low side. It might not be suitable for taller guests.
