You'd hardly believe this central, oh-so-stylish Edinburgh home was once the humble stable of a 1820s townhouse. The owners run a gallery, so inside you'll find plenty of pieces reflecting their connection to the art world. Upstairs is a light-filled living area with a fireplace for cosy nights beneath the exposed beams. Downstairs, a pared-back bedroom opens onto shared gardens to catch the last of the sun on summer evenings. There's also a bathroom with a freestanding bathtub dialling up the modern-day luxury. Set in a residential mews, it's a surprisingly peaceful spot despite being just moments from Holyrood Palace and all the other city's cultural gems.
