You’ve got the best bits of the 6th and 7th arrondissements at your feet from this Parisian bolthole. Starting with the historic Les Invalides and the Jardin du Luxembourg – both are just a stroll away. Set in a classic Haussmann building, we can’t fault the minimalist, considered interiors. That said, there are a couple of compromises to make here. The final two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living area, and the apartment is on the fifth floor with no lift – so you’ll need to tackle some stairs. But with rooftop views like these, and the city on your doorstep, it’s a worthy trade-off.

This home is on the fifth floor without a lift, so be prepared to tackle some stairs.
