If you’re looking for a countryside retreat with a difference, then this converted windmill could be the one. Perched on Lot-et-Garonne’s highest point, you’ll be treated to views of vineyards and rolling hills from the windmill and its private terrace. This place is strictly for adults only, so is perfect for a romantic getaway or wellness escape, although the layout here won’t suit everyone – the home is set over five storeys, with steep, narrow stairs between the floors. With walking trails on the doorstep and wineries nearby, there’s plenty to keep you occupied. And if you fancy a day trip, the riverside town of Eymet is an eighteen-minute drive away, and Medieval Bergerac can be reached in thirty-two minutes.
