It's rare that a central London apartment gives you indoor and outdoor space to unwind. Open up the patio doors and enjoy drinks in the private garden – it's the perfect antidote to a busy day in the city. The modern kitchen is just big enough for cooking up quick meals, and with two en-suite bathrooms, there'll be no queueing in the morning. In London to explore the museums? With the Design Museum, Natural History Museum, and Kensington Palace all within walking distance, you'll have a hard job choosing where to go first.

Local guide
About Kensington
Affluent and incredibly central, Kensington is a great base for exploring London on foot. Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are on your doorstep and so are the Victoria and Albert, Science, and Natural History Museums. The streets are attractive and well maintained (grand, white stucco facades aplenty) and your neighbours will be a wealthy, conservative set. Lots of positives but probably not the place to let your hair down.
