Tucked into a rural estate outside Oxford, this barn conversion is the kind of place that encourages a slower pace. The living area is flooded with natural light, underfloor heating keeps things comfortable year-round, and a concierge can arrange everything from a private chef to clay shooting. Harcourt Arboretum sits directly next door, and walking routes to the River Thames start from the doorstep. Oxford's park and ride is a ten-minute drive away, with Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds also within easy reach when you're ready to explore.

Home truths

  • There's no washing machine here, and linen is only changed after three weeks, so this works best for shorter stays.

  • The home is in a rural location with no outside lighting, so nights can be very dark – a torch is useful if you're heading out after dark. Food delivery drivers also struggle to find the address, so click and collect from the local Sainsbury's is a better bet for groceries.

  • For those with reduced mobility, there's a ground floor bedroom and bathroom here.

  • There's free parking for up to two cars on the driveway.
