Surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards, this villa is a refined retreat in the heart of Umbria. It has a distinctly modern design (see the picture windows and minimalist furnishings). And there are a few rustic touches too, like the wood burner and the stone-carved wine cellar. But it’s outside where this home really impresses. There’s a sleek infinity pool to make the most of the scenic views, and space for alfresco dining in the shade of the olive trees. Ready to explore? Nearby Campello Alto is a charming 10th-century village, while Spoleto’s cathedral and archaeological museum are a short drive away.

About Umbria

Sometimes overshadowed by neighbouring Tuscany, Umbria has so much to offer in its own right. Here, you’ll find Assisi, best known as the birthplace of St Francis, Perugia, with its famous Palazzo dei Priori, the cliff-top town of Orvieto, and Gubbio, home to the Iguvine Tablets. While its urban areas offer Medieval architecture, charming piazzas and excellent restaurants aplenty, it’s the countryside for which you really visit Umbria. The region...
