Set in the central 4th arrondissement, this smart studio couldn’t be better placed if it tried. The Seine, Notre-Dame, Centre Pompidou and the Marais’ cobbled streets are all an easy walk away, while Bastille Metro Station is five minutes from the door for exploring further afield. Compact but full of character, the apartment’s original beams and the small dining nook with a Juliet balcony are a lovely touch. It's worth noting that the kitchenette is only suitable for rustling up coffee and light bites. Although with countless bistros just seconds from your door, we suspect you’ll be eating out.

Home truths

  • The apartment is located on the second floor without lift access, so be prepared to climb some stairs.

  • You won't find an oven here – though there is a hob. We think the kitchen is better suited to prepping lighter bites than large meals.

  • If you're travelling for work, you won't find a dedicated desk here. However, the small bistro table doubles up as a laptop-friendly workspace.

  • Given the home's central spot, expect to hear some street noise throughout your stay.

The area is also home to a fabulous modern opera house (opened in 1989) renowned for...
