This quintessential Tuscan villa is just the place for an indulgent getaway. In the private wellness centre, you can take turns in the Turkish bath, sauna, and sensory shower, or relax in the whirlpool. There's little left of the 16th-century Renaissance watchtower – in its place are elegant interiors, where you can savour a glass of local wine in the private bar or take a fresh espresso out to the patio to enjoy the country views. And if your idea of wellness is getting out into the fresh air, the garden's dedicated walking or running trail is perfect. There's certainly enough at home to occupy your time, but it's worth driving the ten minutes to explore charming Montepulciano.
