Set across sixteen acres of North Devon countryside, this cottage is one of a small cluster of holiday homes within a valley estate that takes family stays seriously. An indoor heated pool means swimming whatever the weather, and the adjoining games room keeps energy high on rainy afternoons. Outside, a hot tub looks out across rolling hills, while younger guests will be kept busy with a wooden pirate ship, trampoline, and the estate's alpacas, pygmy goats, and pigs. The dramatic Atlantic coastline is around a twenty-nine-minute drive away.

Home truths
If you're travelling with a baby or toddler, the cottage comes with a cot, and the integrated kitchen includes a microwave and hand blender for preparing baby food. There is also a dedicated soft playroom on site with a giant soft-play area for the littlest guests.
This is one of seven cottages and houses on the greater estate, so you'll be sharing the grounds, pool, play area, and animal enclosures with other guests staying across the site.
If you're visiting in winter, bear in mind that local pubs and attractions in the area can be closed out of season – though the on-site facilities more than compensate for a cosy stay-in break.
While the bathroom isn't photographed, expect the style and quality to be consistent with the rest of the home.
