Tucked beside the pines of Tahoe’s iconic wilderness, this quintessential mountain home is modern in all the ways you want, but classic enough to feel right at home. Despite the incredible nature surrounding you, it’ll be hard to tear yourself away, with an open-plan living space and fireplace ready for you to settle in, four comfortable bedrooms, and our favourite part — the hot tub with endless views across the trees. When you do head out, you’re just a five-minute drive from Lake Donner, with Lake Tahoe and cosy downtown Truckee also within easy reach. You’ll also have access to the neighbourhood amenities, from a gym and pools to the ski resort, golf course, and more.

About Truckee
On the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is one of the largest bodies of water in the US. As you'd expect, it's an area of astounding beauty, but the lake has also made a name for itself as a centre for both winter sports and water sports, as well as hiking and cycling. The north shore is a bit quieter and more relaxed than the south. While there's still plenty to do (including the annual food and wine festival), you're unlikely to see crowds like you do in other parts of the region.
