Ski mornings, golf afternoons, and easy evenings by the fire – this cabin makes it all feel wonderfully straightforward. Set on a quiet street, it offers the kind of laid-back comfort you want after a full day outdoors. Vaulted ceilings and warm wood accents give the open living space a classic mountain feel, while the stone fireplace anchors the room for slow, cosy nights in. The kitchen is modern and well set up, with granite counters and a generous breakfast bar that keeps whoever’s cooking part of the conversation. Three bedrooms are spread across two levels, offering privacy without feeling disconnected. Local guide
About Truckee
On the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is one of the largest bodies of water in the US. As you'd expect, it's an area of astounding beauty, but the lake has also made a name for itself as a centre for both winter sports and water sports, as well as hiking and cycling. The north shore is a bit quieter and more relaxed than the south. While there's still plenty to do (including the annual food and wine festival), you're unlikely to see crowds like you do in other parts of the region.
