Whether you're in the city for work or pleasure, you'll find this bright apartment an ideal bolthole. Though the main living space is reasonably snug, there's a second lounge space in one of the bedrooms, offering additional room to relax together – or separately, if you prefer. Plus, the mezzanine office (in an unusually characterful spot under the exposed beams) is a great spot if you need somewhere a little more out-of-the-way to concentrate. There's a good chance you'll find the local area more tempting than days at home, though – the 6th arrondissement is a lively spot filled with historic cafes and bars, and it's just a short walk to Notre-Dame.

Home truths

  • This home is on the first floor of a building with no elevator, so it may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility. There are also a few steps down to the sleeping area in bedroom two.

  • Although this home can accommodate four guests, there's only seating for two at the dining table.

  • There's limited space on either side of the bed in bedroom one.

  • The stairs to the mezzanine level are open, so little ones should be supervised in this area. The ceiling on the mezzanine is also on the low side, so it might not be suitable for taller guests.
